Motivational speaker, American author, and salesman Zig Ziglar have passed, and entrepreneurs and salespeople everywhere are sharing amazing stories of his positive influence. Ziglar perfected his craft as a salesman at various companies, working his way up to Vice President at the Automotive Performance company in 1968. Ziglar then went on to develop his own sales performance and training company, and launch a motivational speaker series.
With the holiday season upon us, it is particularly fitting that we give thanks for the gifts he has given to all of us by remembering some of his greatest inspirational quotes:
- “If you keep doin’ what you been doing; you’re gonna keep getting’ what you been gettin’.”
- “For every sale, you miss because you’re too enthusiastic, you will miss a hundred because you’re not enthusiastic enough.”
- “Stop selling. Start helping.”
- “If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.”
- “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.”
- “People say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing-that’s why we recommend it daily.”
- “A goal properly set is halfway reached.”
- “People who have good relationships at home are more effective in the marketplace.”
- “If you wait until all the lights are “green” before you leave home, you'll never get started on your trip to the top.”
- “Statistics suggest that when customers complain, business owners and managers ought to get excited about it. The complaining customer represents a huge opportunity for more business.”
- “Many marriages would be better if the husband and the wife clearly understood that they are on the same side.”
